+66 am.....209....Smoke so thick it is brown outside....they are advising everyone not to go outdooors unless necessary and that if you do to wear a mask.....I did not realize how bad it was till my son Robin pointed out the deposit on his car since he just came home...he said he had to scrape off maybe a quarter inch off his car after his work.....and there is no relief in sight.....still getting up in the high 80s and low 90s every day....big plus here though.....all the ash will sweeten up our soil since we have a high acidic soil here that is a good thing.....maybe because of economics but the state does not fight forest fires like in years past......they only fight them if there is a habitable structure in the path of the fire.....the rest of them is limited supprestion.....burn baby burn

+81 am....209....I can not remember ever a heat wave lasting as long as the one we are in here. We have a digital remote thermometer that is daily hitting 100 in the shade. And officially it is hitting the low 90s and high 80s, but that is out at the airport and as we know....no one lives at the airport. I went the other day to Walmart and seriously bought the last fan in the city of Fairbanks, I had death threats on my answering machine when I got home. Yep you can guess what the topic of conversation is around this metropolis. So here I sit almost 3 am in on a Monday morning typing away in a home that refuses to cool down. And to further make things interesting this section of the state is burning as the result of 7000 lightening strikes a day. Visibility is down to feet, my mailbox 200 feet away is barely discernable. I cranked my oxygen up to 4 liters and thanked the VA for providing it at such an opportune time. Weather here seems to be a matter of extremes which makes for conversation when you invariably are pulling a blank because it is just too darn hot or too darn cold to formulate a thought.

+87 pm......210.....Lots of events to fill up the last few weeks.....went to a great blues festival in Anchorage with Tacey and Kayle.....took Sam and Shasta down and left them off on the same trip....truck broke down on way back and had to be towed back to Anchorage and repaired....it was the Cam shaft sensor unit and since it has been fixed the fuel mileage has almost doubled so it must of been out of whack for a period of time......did not feel right upon returning home so I made a doctors appointment and was taken to ICU right out of the clinic and spent the next six days in the hospital.....bizarre
