Life is wonderful! I am a gardening man again after so many years of ill health. It was a tough operation as overgrowth had made simple rototilling impossible due to the root structure. I used a Case 450 dozer to skim off the offending weeds and sod and lay bare some tillable ground. I pushed the weedy offal along with some prime loam into a pile that I plan on turning through out the summer in a gigantic compost experiment. Dish in some cow manure to spark the process and next year I should have some very prime earth with which to garden with. So this year I am not expecting the wonderful results as I did in the past since the soil has been fallow for so long. Yet it is very exciting to be finally doing it again. My head is reeling with all the plants I want to grow this year. I am also going to tryout the local sewer plants' compost they offer to the public and see if I can get some aeration and and humus worked back into the soil this year. Weather has been good except for a few periods of rain. Last week we were hitting in the 80s during the day which for May is not terribly normal yet we have not had a normal weather pattern in twenty years. The most prominent thing to note is global warming is alive and well here in the north and no more noticeable than further north of here where the Arctic ocean which is normally right on shore is now 3 plus miles away. Can you say fresh tomatoes
